CHROMOPHARE surgical lights and lighting systems and CHROMOVIEW camera, monitor and appliance carrier arms

BERCHTOLD informed us that its supplier for carrier arms / spring arms has identified a quality issue relating to a weld in the joint of specific spring arms.

This issue affects most European surgical light manufacturers, since they source their suspension systems / mounting structure from the same supplier.

The probability of a break occurring is very low (approx. 0.05%). It has been indicated that a possible break would take place during or immediately after installation of the support.
Nonetheless, in order to minimise any risk, it is strongly recommended to position the light head or monitor and spring arm in accordance with the operating instructions.

Based on each Light System's Serial No., Medtel Australia will determine the location of the effected spring arms. Our Service Engineers will contact the relevant hospitals in order to setup an appointment to inspect the spring arms.
